The refreshed new i-Gen Hyundai i20 goes on sale in Australia now. The new i20 was launched in India in March this year. Prices have seen a raise of $100 and the new i20 starts at $15,590 (approx 8.8 Lakh INR) and goes on till $19,590 (11 Lakh INR).
The car is available in 6 variants. The base Active variant gets 14 inch steel wheels down from 15 inch of the earlier variant. The top-of-the-line Elite variant gets 15 inch alloys, front fog lamps, leather-wrapped gear knob and a few features extra over Active variant.
Engine remains unchanged from the earlier variant – the same 1.4L 100PS/136Nm petrol engine. This is the similar 1.4L engine which runs Indian i20 petrol automatic variant. The new i20 also gets a 6-speed manual gearbox. Indian 1.2L petrol variant runs on 5-speed manual gearbox with the 1.4L running on 4-speed automatic. Only the 1.4L diesel variant gets the 6-speed manual transmission in India.
