The 2013 Edition of the Skoda Octavia will be launched commercially within a few weeks time. All the details including the features and the trim levels have been revealed, except for the price. Now, we also have the feature-wise list of the variants.
The 2013 Skoda Octavia will be available in India with the choice of four variants. Two of them will be powered by petrol mills, and the other two will be powered by one diesel mill on offer. All the options are sub-divided into Active (Base Trim), Ambience and Elegance (Top-End Trim).
Bookings of the 2013 Skoda Octavia have begun at all Skoda showrooms across India. There are four trims based on the engines. After choosing that, one can proceed to selecting one out of the seven different trims based on the features. Here is a list of the features that will only be found in the top-end Elegance trim :

- Side and curtain airbags

- Electrically adjustible driver seat with memory function and lumbar support

The base variant of the 2013 Skoda Octavia, Active, does not include wood design decor on the front console panel and doors. It also doesn’t possess light assistant and the classy DRLs. The automatically dimming interior rear view mirror isn’t there, and so is the Park Assist. The Skoda audio player with 5.8 inch color touchscreen gives way to a Skoda Swing audio player. Steering mounted audio controls are also not present.
The paint palette consists of seven different options. Here they are :

- Candy White
- Cappuccino Beige
- Magic Black
- Rio Red (new)
- Metal Grey (new)
- Race Blue (new)
Two petrol engines are on offer, a 1.4 Litre TSi and another 1.8 Litre TSI. The 1.4 TSI will be offered in only manual transmission option of 6 speed gearbox. It will whip up 140 PS and 250 Nm torque while delivering claimed mileage of 16.8 kmpl. This model will be available in Active and Ambition trim.
The 1.8 TSI is the top of the line engine. It is the most powerful engine in the line-up, generating 180 PS and 250 Nm torque. It will only be offered in automatic transmission with 7 speed DSG gearbox. It is claimed that this 1.8 TSI will return about 14.7 kmpl. This engine will only be offered in the Elegance trim.
There is only one diesel engine on offer. It is the 2.0 Litre TDI which is also used on the Jetta as well as many Audi cars. This mill will be available in both choices of a manual transmission as well as automatic. The company claims a mileage of 20.6 kmpl and 19.3 kmpl for the manual and automatic versions respectively. This TDI engine will be capable of churning out 143 PS power and 320 Nm torque.
The interiors of the car are pretty lavish. There is a chrome package which is included in all the trims. It includes chrome surrounds and garnishes on key areas like gear-shift levers, instrument dials, air-conditioning vents and door handles. Though the base variant misses out on the Wood Decor as we have earlier mentioned, it gets a silver alloy decor. The wood decor is available on the other two trims.
Safety and security is well taken care of. All the variants include height-adjustable seat belts with pretensioners. Three point seatbelts are there at the rear. The vehicle includes a rough road package with an undercarriage protection. Though ESP and MKB (Multi-Collision Braking) aren’t provided on the base variant, all the trim levels are equipped with ABS and EBD.
So the 2013 Skoda Octavia looks younger, attractive and comes pretty loaded as well. Prices are expected to be luring as well.
