2015 Mini Countryman Launched in India at Rs 36.5 Lakhs

The 2015 Mini Countryman, which was first showcased last year has been launched in India at a sticker price of Rs 36.5 lakhs ex-showroom in Delhi. Brought to the country via the CBU route, the new car can be bought at all Mini dealerships in India.

Powered by a four cylinder turbocharged diesel mill, the Mini Countryman produces 111.5 PS of maximum power and a torque output of 270 Nm peaking in the range of 1,750 to 2,250 rpm. Transmission duties are administered by a 6 speed Steptronic gearbox which collaborates with the engine, thus enabling it to utilise its optimum power and efficiency. You also get paddle shifters for those days you when you want to be extra sporty.

Aimed as a bridge between the classic Mini and the modern age SUV, the 5 door Mini Countryman can be quick too. To give you an idea, the car can hit the ton from standstill in just 11.3 seconds and will continue till it runs out of breath at 185 kmph (manufacturer claimed figures).

The Countryman has been built with lightweight materials and features 50:50 weight distribution. It also gets Automatic Start/Stop function and Brake Energy Regeneration. In terms of looks it gets a revised front grille LED daytime running lights, new alloy wheels and a new 6.5 inch infotainment system to a 10 speaker 640 watt Hi-Fi Harmon Kardon music system.

On safety parameters, you get 6 airbags, 3-point seat belts, Brake Assist, Run-flat indicator Dynamic Stability Control including Dynamic Traction Control and ABS.
