Skoda is one of those manufacturers in India, which has just not been able to arrest the booming Indian car market despite a relatively long sting in the subcontinental country.
The reason generally cited is the lack of proper attitude and rude behavior towards its customers. Apart from this, Skoda also did not have some really gleaming products which could attract a lot of crowd. Nonetheless, the Czech manufacturer has decided to pull its socks and is going for a product revamp.
Speculatively, the company is going to discontinue Fabia in India as well as the Laura. As we all know, Laura will be replaced by this new-gen Octavia which will also mark a comeback of the once-famous ‘Octavia’ brand in the country. A day before its official unveiling, three new mules of Skoda Octavia are caught on the roads of Rameshwaram in Tamil Nadu by arunkumars, a Team-BHP member.
arunkumars report that all the three cars had very good pickup and acceleration and carried DRLs. He was specifically impressed by the red colored Octavia mule. According to reports, Octavia might undercut Laura’s entry tag of 12.9 Lakh which will make this Octavia a real deal over other cars in the segment.
The new Octavia will get 1.4L and 1.8L TSI petrol mills along with a 2.0L TDI diesel engine (in 120bhp and 150bhp tunes). Octavia will also come with an automatic DSG gearbox which we have already revealed months ago. Skoda will unveil Octavia tomorrow and will launch the car sometime later.
