These are the spy shots of the Skoda Yeti for Chinese market.
This car is said to be rather ‘stretched’ than the European version. The boot of the car is stretched by 60 mm to provide more room for luggage. According to auto.ifeng.com, the production of the Skoda Yeti will start in 2013 by Shanghai-Volkswagen joint venture.
As for engine options, unlike India, the Chinese Yeti will only have two petrol engines, the 1.4 TSI and 1.8 TSI, coupled with either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed DSG gearbox. The Chinese Yeti won’t have any diesel motor because of the Chinese government’s regulations. Both the 4X2 and 4X4 powertrain options will be on offerings.
Prices for the Chinese Yeti is still in the dark but it is expected to start somewhere near 140,000 yuan (~Rs. 11.79 Lakhs).
