One car that is directly under threat from Honda Amaze’s onslaught is definitely Maruti Dzire. For the first time ever, there appears a product that is a cause of concern for Maruti.
Not now but on a slightly longer run, Amaze can hit Dzire’s sales badly. Maruti’s top honchos must be at the tip of their seats to know the response Amaze garners. And to take a wee bit of attention off Amaze, Maruti is about to launch a limited edition of Dzire which will be called as ‘Dzire Regal‘.
Here is what it will come loaded with:
- New Serene Blue Color
- Leather Upholstery
- Better Music System
- Silver Color Front Grille
- Body colored and electronically adjustable ORVMs (outer rear view mirrors)
- Rear Parking sensors
New Dzire Regal edition is priced at Rs 5.6 Lakh ex-showroom Delhi and will only be available in petrol version. Considering that Honda is specifically concentrating on Amaze diesel, is Maruti trying to attack the softer corner of Amaze (petrol)? The car will hit the showrooms in a few days and an official word is also expected to arrive soon.
Dzire Regal edition will be promoted as a celebration of five years of Dzire in India. However, specifically launching it during Amaze’s time does speak for itself the intense competition out there.

Y take risk with a brand (Honda Aamaze) which has no experience in the diesel market and is coming first time wd a diesel model. I hv heard that the engine’s noise is very truck-like..plus there is uncertainty of performance as well. Maruti is well established, it has nothing to worry about
