Amaze is Sitting on 20,000+ Bookings; Waiting Period to Come Down

Honda’s most important product in the last few years, Amaze compact sedan has been doing it for the car maker. Honda launched the Amaze in India in April this year and it has been a comeback car for them.

With Amaze, Honda introduced a new diesel engine for India and bookings have been pouring in hoards ever since and the order backlog has reached 20,000 units with a wait of 4-5 months. In order to reduce this waiting period, Honda has decided to start a third shift at their Greater Noida plant by November this year which will enable the company to produce more cars from the current 440 cars per day.

This will ensure a reduction of waiting period by almost 1-2 months. Every month Honda is selling about 5500 Amazes to its customers and the increased production will result in this number going upwards. Honda’s Vice-President, Jnaneshwar Sen also informed that production of other cars remain unaffected and they are producing them based on their original plans.

Amaze competes against its chief rival Dzire and others such as Sail, Etios, Fiesta Classic etc. With this step, Honda is upping its ante against Dzire and it is expected that it will be able to give a tough competition to the till-now invincible Maruti’s best seller. With this step, all prospect owners of Amaze can sigh of relief and can get their car a couple of months earlier.
