Audi at its recently held Annual General Meeting has made some interesting revelations which have added official status to what have so far been mere rumours. The company will be aiming to increase their total product offerings to a grand total of 60 by the year 2020. Their main energy will be concentrated on SUVs which will see the inclusion of three new models. Yes the Q1 and Q8 SUVs are actually happening!
The new baby in town, the Q1 will be launched next year while the new flagship SUV, the Q8 can be expected to be in public by a late 2019. You think that’s far? Well guess what, the Ingolstadt based manufacturer has another ace up its sleeve which will be unveiled before the king size Q8. Moving over the rising demand of electric vehicles, Audi plans to bring out a sporty SUV with electric drive in the upper mid segment in 2018. Apart from this the company will also be launching the next generation A4 which has been their best-selling model.
They have recently updated the RS3 Sportback, the R8 and the soon to be put on sale Audi Q7. Audi is also going to raise their investments with 24 billion euros as additional input, 70 per cent of which will be used for development of new models and technologies. They also plan to increase their global workforce with an addition of more than 6,000 new employees who will strive to raise the brand to greater heights.
The brand with Four Rings sees the Indian market with great love and have some significant launches planned for the coming months. They have been at the top of the sales chart when compared with the German triumvirate and with such solid plans for the future they do seem to have a bright future, possibly the brightest!
