Bentley Launches Flying Spur V8 in India at Rs 3.1 Crore: Pics, Specs & All Details

Bentley, one of the world’s largest selling luxury car automaker has released a smaller engine variant of its flagship model, the Flying Spur, in India.

They had earlier launched the 625PS producing 6.0L twin turbo W12 in India last year and this new engine variant surely adds more arsenal to Bentley’s India line-up. The car uses a 4.0L twin turbo mill to churn out 507PS of power @6000rpm and 660Nm of torque @1750rpm.

The transmission remains the same, ZF 8 speed automatic which has a shift time of just 800 milliseconds. It even allows block shifting, which in common lingo means one can shift from a higher gear to any lower gear without downshifting to each and every gear (as in one can move from the 8th to the 2nd gear directly) and vice versa.

The car hits a ton in 5.2s which is pretty commendable for a car of its stature, and tops out at 295kmph (the W12 version has a top speed of 322kmph and reaches from 0 to 100kmph in 4.3s)! The car also boasts of a permanent all-wheel drive. A sunroof is available if one so desires at no extra cost.

The bumper grille is thankfully black in colour instead of the chrome finish seen on the W12 model, giving it a more macho look. The interiors are pretty much in line with the elder sibling, but the rear seats are bench type and have no adjustment and heating features.

Bentley Flying Spur continues to use the same 8 inch infotainment system which can be controlled by voice activation. It also has an on board storage of 64GB!

The car now also has a longer cruising range of 700km on a tank full of fuel. The Bentley wings now gets a red center to differentiate it from the W12 and has eight chromed exhaust finishers giving out a typical V8 growl.
