BMW 520d M Sport Launched at Rs 54 lakhs

BMW has launched the new 520d M Sport in India for Rs 54 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi). Based on the sporty and dynamic new 5 series, the car is locally produced at BMW’s Chennai facility and will be available at all dealerships across the country. Placed below the more powerful 530d M Sport (which gets a bigger 3.0 litre engine), the new version tries to offer athletic elegance without costing a bomb.

Powering the 520d M Sport is the same 1,995 cc four pot TwinPower turbocharged diesel mill churning out 190 hp at 4,000 rpm and 400 Nm of torque peaking in the range of 1,750 to 2,500 rpm. Mated to this is an 8 speed Steptronic Sport automatic transmission which is capable of hurling the car from 0 to 100 kmph in 7.7 second.
