The upcoming Ford EcoSport is possibly the most awaited Car in India and has been a center of discussion for quite sometime now. After we saw it being displayed at the Auto Expo, New Delhi earlier in January, it seems that the car has finally hit the roads for testing!
Here we present our readers scooped images of the EcoSport completely undisguised and spotted testing in Brazil. The whole credit goes to Noticias Automotivas of Brazil. The car we saw at the Auto Expo is exactly the same with the one spotted, except for the headlights. The concept had LED Headlamps and the production model is fitted with conventional halogen headlamps.
Wait! We’re not finished yet! A reader of AutoCar India has spotted a camouflaged EcoSport being road tested near Chennai in India. Currently Ford is following a new strategy called ‘One Ford’. According to this strategy, Ford will sell their upcoming products in the global car market, thus having a wider network of sales and service, hence more profits.
Ford and Mazda together developed the B2E platform that specializes on weight saving and torsional rigidity. The EcoSport is built on the same award-winning Global Compact Car Platform. The EcoSport will also sport a 1.0-Litre 3-Cylinder DI Turbo Petrol Engine that is brand new and will be debuted by the EcoSport only. It is said that this 1.0-Litre Motor will deliver equal power that a 1.6-Litre Motor does! The existing 1.5-Litre Diesel motor (Fiesta is powered by this same Diesel Engine) will also be there as an option.
The upcoming EcoSport is expected to be priced between INR 7-9 Lakhs. With the overall features offered, comfort, power, looks and specially the price tag, the Ford EcoSport is sure going to be a ‘Hard-to-Resist’ buy for SUV enthusiasts. Ford has made us more excited with all these and left us with an even bigger question mark, when will it hit the roads ofIndia?
