BUSTED: Duster Rival Hyundai ix25 Production Version Spotted

The Hyundai ix25 compact SUV, showcased at the Beijing Auto Show has been spied completely uncamouflaged for the very first time in its production form.

Pictures have come up at Carnewchina.com and show that the car has an impressive road presence and has typical Hyundai design theme to it. ix25 is to slug it out against the Renault Duster and Terranos in India and it does appear to be of similar size, from the pics.

Although this ix25 carries alloy wheels, fog lamps body cladding, it doesn’t appear to be the top of the line because of the absence of chrome and expected projector headlamps, or well this is all the production car will get? This ix25 sports a new front radiator protection grille. It loses on the chrome outline (phew!).

However, its the rear that seems to be a bit messed up. The new number plate housing just about ruins everything and looks awkwardly placed. Overall, as we have said, the entire car continues with the same signature Hyundai look, the characteristic fluidic design philosophy making it curvaceously elegant.

This ix25 sports different wheels than the concept model shown at the Auto Show. According to reports, China pricing can be expected to be around 1,40,000 yuan to 1,70,000 yuan (Rs 13.57 lakhs to Rs 16.47 lakhs). When launched here, its Indian prices are expected to be lesser, more on the lines of Renault Duster.

Hyundai is expected to launch the new ix25 compact SUV in October this year in China, and it might hit the Indian roads sometime early next year.
