In a surprising revelation, we had shared with you few days back that the facelifted Cruze was hurtling towards us Indians, soon. And we have a facelifted Cruze that has been spied in China.
The tip-off for our last post on the facelifted Cruze was a tweet by Rohin Nagrani, Senior Editor at BS Motoring.
Spyshots of the facelifted Cruze have been cropping up on the interweb at sporadic intervals. However, they all have been immaculately camouflaged with unquestionable regularity. Nevertheless, some interior spyshots had also surfaced up last week which managed to show the cabin in a good light.
We are unsure what changes will Chevrolet bring to the table on the Indian version of Cruze facelift but these may be similar to the ones we spot here on this Chinese version.
In these spyshots, we can see a helpless Cruze lying on its underbelly. Yes, it is a frail, helpless vehicle that has got snapped as it was piggybacking on a trailer! The wheels of this Cruze are missing. There is a hint of a change in the shape of the tail-lamp cluster. It is actually reminiscent of the clump that sits on the Chevrolet Camaro muscle car.
However, the easily noticeable change is the repositioning of the registration plate from the bootlid to the rear bumper. It should also do good as some customers had complained of a rattle in the tailgate due to the loose bolting of the registration plate. We don’t feel Chevrolet will be eager to hand out an upgrade in terms of performance. As this is a facelift, expect things to boil down to these refurbishes.
The current Chevrolet Cruze is powered by a 1998 cc VCDi engine that belts out segment leading 166 PS of peak power, and an earth-shattering peak torque of 380 Nm. It is equipped with a high-performance Variable Geometry Turbo-charged Common Rail Direct Injection (CRDI) system to ensure exhilarating rides. Cruze is available in both Manual and Automatic tyranny options. It is also provided with airbags, and other safety features like ABS and a safety cage with front and rear crumple zones.
The current Chevrolet Cruze comes with very plush Jet-Black interiors and Corvette-inspired Twin Cockpit design. Features like Push Button Start and a host of automatic features only go ahead to raise the premium feeling once the driver steps inside. A 6-way adjustable driver seat also ends up pampering the driver. We aren’t sure if the interiors are in for any major overhaul as well. As we reported earlier, it is the touchscreen system that could get bigger and better.
