Chevy Enjoy MPV Expected to Undercut Ertiga’s Price; Launch on 9th May

Away from the mainstream cars, Chevrolet’s next shot at fame will be in the utility space with Enjoy MPV which they first showcased at Auto Expo 2012 in Delhi. 

Chevrolet Enjoy is basically a product of Wuling-GM joint venture in China which the company thought, after Indianization, will do the trick for them. That remains to seen obviously, but Chevrolet Enjoy does come with a fair share of positives over its rivals. As a first, it is pretty spacious and has better space at the third row than its competitors. It also gets the 1.3L SMARTECH diesel engine which we all know oh-so-very-well apart from the 1.4L 103bhp petrol motor. It will come in seating configurations of 2+3+3 as well as 2+2+3 (with captain seats in middle row).

And now according to Autocar, Chevrolet is expected to undercut Ertiga’s pricing and by a significant margin. They feel Enjoy might start somewhere around Rs 5.4 Lakh for the base entry level petrol variant. If this goes true, these prices will be Rs 60,000 cheaper than Ertiga LXi! Further, the diesel’s top variant pricing is expected to be around Rs 8.4 Lakh, which is again Rs 30,000 cheaper than Ertiga ZDi!

With a significant space advantage along with better city driveability and an expected killer expected price tag, will Enjoy hurt Ertiga real bad..? Well the launch is barely 7 days away!
