It is getting interesting big time and we have our correspondents running across the major cities covering events and bringing news as it happens to you. Ford will be world premièring their Dzire and Amaze rivalling compact sedan in India on the 3rd of Feb in Delhi.
And according to the teaser image they have shared, it definitely is a car based on the New Ka which is, in all probability, the Next-Gen Figo. In the official invite mailer, Ford is calling it a ‘Global Reveal’ of a new car.
Interestingly, a few publications are speculating the 3rd event to be the unveiling of the Next-Gen Endeavour to the world. But it gets cleared by this Facebook event created by Ford India that it will be the new Ka based compact sedan that will debut on Monday instead of the new Endeavour.
We expect Ford’s new compact sedan to be a sub 4 meter car which is expected to carry the 1.0L Ecoboost petrol engine and the 1.5L TDCi diesel motor to fall under the purview of ‘small car’ to extract least 12% excise duties.
Ford will also premiere the new Ka B562 in India at the Auto Expo. However, launch of both these cars will happen only in 2015 or thereafter. The new Ka is expected to either completely replace the existing Figo or be sold alongside with it just like the Micra and Micra Active. However, this new compact sedan should be replacing the existing (Fiesta) Classic, prices of which have been slashed very recently to make it a real luring preposition in the market.
