Ferrari Recalls 814 Cars in USA Due to Faulty Airbags by Takata

Guess who is at the receiving end of the latest recall spree! The legendary Italian sports car maker Ferrari! As per a notification in National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), Ferrari is going to recall 814 units of their iconic cars. But why? Yes, you guessed it right, faulty airbags by Takata Inc.

As per the official declaration, the company will be recalling 2015 Ferrari 458 Italia, 458 Spider, 458 Speciale, 458 Speciale A, California T, FF, F12 Berlinetta and LaFerrari vehicles manufactured between December 19, 2014 and April 29, 2015.

The affected vehicles may have been fitted with a driver side airbag module which has the possibility of being improperly assembled. In the event of a crash the deployment of driver’s side airbag in a rotated orientation increases the risk of injury.

Ferrari will be notifying owners directly and dealerships will be replacing the front driver’s side airbag module absolutely free of charge. Alternately, owners can also contact their nearest Ferrari customer service for more details. The recall is expected to begin on July 30, 2015.
