MotorBash.com was the first publication which brought to you the first ever spyshots of the Linea facelift testing in India on August 13. After that, spottings of this upcoming sedan have been coming in thick and fast.
In a latest development, Motoroids.com has shared spyshots of as many as 3 test mules of Linea facelift which appear to be parked roadside somewhere in Pune. All the three mules bear camouflage at least at the rear.
Fiat testing 3 test mules simultaneously might hint at the possibility that all these Linea facelift mules might be running on 3 different engines. Fiat has already confirmed during their roadmap unveiling in December last year (presentation snapshot below) that the Linea facelift will come with a turbocharged 1.4L petrol engine (the same from Linea T-jet) and more importantly the 1.6L Multijet diesel motor which will mark its foray in our country.
So, are they also testing the 1.3L Multijet also? It may be possible since Fiat already offers the new Linea facelift in all these 3 options internationally. In terms of cosmetic changes Linea facelift will come with a new grille, fog lamp housing, refreshed front and rear bumpers and loads of chrome. The number plate housing also moves up onto the bootlid.
Apart from this, Linea facelift will also get host of changes to its interiors including a comprehensively revamped dashboard, new upholstery, redesigned instrument console etc. Check out Linea facelift interior shots here.
Linea Facelift Launch
Fiat promised to launch Linea Classic towards the end of this year and keeping it, they have already launched the car at a starting price tag of Rs 5.99 Lakh. And Fiat has also revealed that Linea facelift will be launched towards the early part of next year. So, we can safely neglect all reports which are speculating a 2013 launch.
In terms of positioning, Linea Classic has already taken up the battle against the entry level C-segment sedans like Amaze, Dzire etc. Linea facelift will slug it out with the higher C-segment biggies like City, Verna, Vento among others.
What we are really interested is the news of the upcoming 1.6L Multijet. Are you as well?
