Force Motors has announced that they would be the title sponsor of the first ever Rainforest Challenge in India. The international off road event will be held from August 8 to August 14, 2014 and will henceforth be called as Force Gurkha RFC India 2014.
Force is known more for its Light commercial vehicles but it has now started to take keen interest in the passenger market as well. Among other cars, Force offers (but hasn’t launched) the Gurkha EOV in India which is an extreme off-road vehicle.
Off-roading in India is still at a very nascent stage, and a rally like the Malaysian Rainforest Challenge which is one of the ten toughest motor races in the world, would definitely take us a notch higher. A rally of this kind is held in Italy, Australia, Russia, Sri Lanka, Vietnam, Tunisia, and China, apart from the original Malaysia. Goa, would be an ideal addition to this list, adding a lot of glamour and challenging tracks.
The Force Gurkha RFC India 2014 shall entail extreme challenge in conditions seen in the original event held in Malaysia. The event will subject competitors to incessant rain, steep slippery slopes, deep ruts, gullies, flooded rivers, and landslides, all with interesting and unpredictable twists.
The competition shall have 4 levels, each with increasing difficulties; Prologue, Predator, Terminator and Twilight. The participants have to complete all 30 Special Stages across a multitude of obstacles, to be declared as overall winners. However, since this event is in its first year in India, the organizers have kept the condition of overall rankings – one for foreign entries and the other for Indian entries, flexible!
