Ford Promises Lesser Turnaround Time; Inaugurates New Parts Distribution Centre in Kolkata

Ford India has inaugurated its fourth Parts Distribution Centre in India, this time in the city of joy, Kolkata. Ford now has a regional parts warehouse in all four metropolitan cities of the country, namely Chennai, Delhi, Kolkata and Mumbai.

Ford has been striving hard to work on its spare parts and after sales service and steps like these further help build our confidence on the company’s intents.

Ford has 28 dealers in the Eastern and North Eastern part of the country and this new center would facilitate the movement of spare parts and accessories to these locations and Ford promises a reduction of turnaround time significantly especially to the remote parts of the country as both Chennai and Delhi are pretty far away from them.

After sales service is getting a lot of heed as manufacturers turn to such customer-centric strategies to help imbibe a feeling of confidence in their brands. This definitely leads to an increase in customer loyalty, which would in turn lead to a customer returning to the brand when they plan to buy a new product. The new facility further strengthens Ford’s position in the country making their presence more widespread.

Spread across an area of 3,200 square metres, the facility will also boost the growth of the brand in the Eastern corridor; a section largely ignored by most manufacturers due to certain unavoidable reasons.

With the launch of the new Fiesta (although we are still wondering why Ford decided not to bring out a petrol variant) and the success of the EcoSport, Ford is now waiting for the launch of the All-New Figo hatchback and Figo compact sedan. They intend to have a strong market share and these aggressive product plans, along with service expansion strategies shall certainly help in reaching closer to that goal.
