As we said, India will get this engine on the EcoSport which we have already test driven for close to 150kms in Goa. We loved the car nut to nut. The drivability was fantastic and apart from the very minor lag under 1400 rpm, it has a linear power delivery all through the range. Though, it is not exactly an enthusiasts delight, it does its job with aplomb on both cities and highway drives.

Add the 18.9kmpl ARAI certified mileage to the list and what you get is a fabulous package. In India, EcoBoost loaded EcoSport will only be offered in the top two Titanium and Titanium+ trims. One of our sources have told us that EcoSport might start at Rs 5.95 Lakhs and Ford’s officials have also repeatedly said that EcoSport will be ‘very affordable’.
