Fresh & Up Close Spyshots of New 2014 Tata Vista Facelift

We have got our hands on fresh new spyshots of the upcoming facelifted Tata Vista. It is probably the first time Tata Vista has been snapped on so close.

The striking thing here is the shape of the headlamps. They appear to be more radical than those on the current Vista itself. Let’s hope Tata’s designers finally raise their cudgels and say goodbye to the smiling profile on the engine grille.

Tata Vista is the mainstay of the Indian carmaker, however things have been drooping and withering of late in the face of heightened competition from foreign carmakers. The erstwhile Indica used to enjoy near-monopoly status in the Indian four-wheeled arena about half-a-decade back, whereas now it is reduced to almost a mere side show. Even though the shape of the Vista is much more streamlined than that of the earlier Indica, it is nowhere near the best. Interiors too can be called insipid at best.

It appears that Karl Slym-led automotive firm has finally started getting a grasp of the ground realities. Even though the basic shape of the car probably remains unchanged, we can spot a slight tweak to the roofline. An even more noticeable difference is the shape of the tailgate. Few days back, a spotting of the Tata Vista had showed us that the tail-lamps have been redesigned.

That having said, we don’t expect many more path-breaking changes from the Indian manufacturer for this facelift. We probably could get a whole stash of chrome plonked on to the car as in the other facelifted models of Tata.  There is also a good possibility of the addition o new equipments in the cabin, like rear parking sensors and touch-screen displays.

We also don’t expect to get newer powerplant options underneath the hood. The same ones from the current model could be tweaked, but new engines are a far-fetched hope. Tata Motors could showcase this facelifted Tata Vista at the 2014 Auto Expo.
