From a ‘block your dates‘ mailer to an official invite, Hyundai has shared with us all the details of the very important launch of their upcoming compact hatchback, Grand i10.
The launch will take place in New Delhi on Tuesday September 3rd. Proceedings will start at 11:30 am onwards and the event will be presided over by B.S. Seo, Managing Director & CEO of Hyundai Motor India.
Interestingly, Hyundai has also revealed a wee bit of details on the promotion theme of Grand i10. The invite mailer reads:
“This September, a new language will take over the streets”
Quick Refresher on Grand i10:
If you have missed out on the updates, Hyundai’s Grand i10 is not an immediate replacement for the current i10. Instead, it will sit between the regular i10 and the i20. The biggest talking point is the introduction of the 1.1L 3-cylinder U2 diesel engine, specifications of which have not been let out yet. Speculatively, it will produce power in the range of 70PS and torque output of 170-175Nm.
Apart from this, Grand i10 will get the 1.2L Kappa2 petrol engine that has been doing duty on the regular i10. According to our assumptions, Hyundai may reduce the trims on the current i10 to create a reasonable gap for the Grand i10 to sit comfortably.

- Hyundai Grand i10 1.2L Petrol: Rs 4-4.25 Lakh
- Hyundai Grand i10 1.1L Diesel: Rs 5-5.25 Lakh
