Maruti Suzuki Ritz was launched in India in May 2009. Maruti was to name the car as ‘Splash’ as its original name in Japan, but Ford holds the copyright for it here in India and hence the new name ‘Ritz’ was coined. This city car was developed jointly by Suzuki and Opel and hence there is a sibling named Agila which is sold by Opel and Vauxhall (in UK).
The rebadged Ritz/Splash, Opel Agila is powered by 1L 68PS 90Nm and 1.2L 94PS 118Nm petrol engines which are mated to 5 speed gearboxes. A 4 speed Automatic is also on offer in the 1.2L variant. On the looks front the car looks more rounded and curvier than the Ritz we know. Interiors are similar to what we see here in Ritz. Here is a gallery of Opel Agila and Vauxhall Agila. Check out Ritz siblings in other parts of the world. Do comment in which form you like the Splash the most!
