India Bound Hyundai ix25 to be Launched in China in October

Slowly and gradually, Hyundai’s compact SUV has taken shape and it made its official debut at the 2014 Beijing Auto Show in China in its concept form.

According to Carnewschina.com, Hyundai will unveil its production version at the Chengdu Auto Show in September this year after which it is expected to go on sale in China and is speculated to be priced around 140.000 to 170.000 yuan which equates to something between the range of 13 Lakhs to 16 Lakhs INR.

In China ix25 will compete with EcoSport and the upcoming Volkswagen Taigun and it may get engines ranging from 1.4L to 2.0L, however any concrete bit or an official confirmation is awaited.

Turning our attention to India, though there is no concrete confirmation about it, but ix25 appears to be the same compact SUV which Hyundai has been talking about launching here in India. Based on the Kia Soul, ix25 appears to be more of a Duster and Terrano competition than EcoSport per say in India.

With its China launch, we will get to understand the kit and the production offering and from the first impressions, it does appear to be fantastic prospect in the making. Hyundai also has talked about launching an MPV in India sometime next year.
