Jaguar launches 2nd Gen XF in India for Rs 49.50 lakhs

The Tata owned British car maker has today launched the all new XF in India for Rs 49.50 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi). This is the first Jaguar badged product in the country to be powered by a 2.0 litre Ingenium diesel engine. Availability will spread over three variants for diesel (Pure, Prestige and Portfolio) and two for petrol (Prestige and Portfolio).

In terms of looks, the car gets stronger, dynamic lines. The headlamps have become brighter while the interiors now have the push start button pulsating with light as soon as the doors are opened for the first time.

The brand new 1,999 cc 4 pot diesel mill which churns out 174.4 bhp of maximum power at 4,000 rpm and 430 Nm of torque peaking at 1,750 to 2,500 rpm. It is 20 kg lighter than the previous generation mill. This will not just help in reducing CO2 emission and increasing fuel efficiency. The petrol too has the same displacement and churns out 233 bhp at 5,500 rpm and 340 Nm of torque peaking in the range of 1,750 to 2,000 rpm.

If we speak about comfort, the car has 24 mm of increased knee room and 15 mm of additional leg room. Switches have been kept to a minimum to lend the dash a neat and clean look. The customer also gets to choose from 10 preset mood lighting. In the Pure trim, the new XF gets an 8 inch infotainment system, 17 inch alloy wheels, electronically adjustable front seats and bi-functional Xenon headlamps.

The mid-level Prestige trim gets perforated leather seats, 385 watt sound system, and memory function for steering wheel and driver’s seat. The range-topping Portfolio though gets a large 10.2 inch infotainment system, 14-way adjustable front seats, 18 inch alloy wheels and a 17 speaker 825 watt surround sound system by Meridian.
