Jaguar Releases New Teaser for Upcoming XE….

Jaguar doesn’t have a car in its portfolio which can slug it out against the German trio of Audi A4, BMW 3 series and the Mercedes C Class. The new XE, announced at the Geneva Motor Show is going to be Jaguar’s answer to just that.

The smallest Jaguar yet, is to be unveiled during the Paris Motor Show in October and Jaguar has been busy building up its hype with teasers and information revelations. In a latest teaser, the company has released image of the car giving the basic silhouette and the aluminum structure.

You can expect more such teasing images and other bits in the coming months officially from Jaguar. They have also started the hashtag #FEELXE to promote the car on the social media.

The new XE is the replacement of the highly critiqued X-type, which got axed in 2009 and is one of the most important new model for Jaguar as the company intends to increase its sales volumes with this premium compact sedan. The XE will be the first Jaguar to be built at the Land Rover factory in Solihull and is also the first non SUV to be built there in the last 33 years.

XE will hit the streets in 2015 and will be powered by an all-new 2.0L four cylinder turbocharged engine from the Ingenium series. It will also get a 3.0L supercharged V6 which is available in two power trims – 340PS and 380PS.

The car might also get a high performance variant like the XER-S (in line with the XFR-S) and a four wheel drive variant. Although power figures of the new Ingenium series of engines have not been revealed, the baby Jaguar is expected to be pretty powerful and one of the most fuel efficient cars in its class.

For all of you who give a damn to these specs, yes, like you, we also expect it to be a stonker of a looker! And yes, Jaguar has also updated its Indian site with a teaser of XE (above) almost confirming that it will be launched here as well…
