Close on the heels of appointing Mr Guillaume Sicard as the new President of Nissan’s Indian operations, we have another top level announcement coming in from the company. Nissan has roped in Mahindra’s Arun Malhotra as the new Managing Director of the company.
Arun will report to Guillaume and will be based out of Nissan’s Sales and Marketing headquarters in Mumbai. He will be responsible for developing business strategies, managing product introduction and increasing Nissan’s network expansion across the country.
Arun Malhotra, prior to joining Nissan, was the chief of International Sales & Marketing of Mahindra Automotive and farm sector. He brings with him 30 years of experience in the automotive field and has worked with Bajaj Auto as well as Maruti Suzuki. In terms of educational qualifications, Arun is a Mechanical Engineer and an MBA from IIM, Kolkata.
Arun comes in at a time when Nissan is struggling in the market and their budget brand Datsun has also failed to live upto the expectations.
