So, should you dish out Rs.6-7 lakh more than the standard C-Class to own an Edition C?

The Edition C has been pimped out by none other than AMG. Most noticeable is the distinctive black grille with chrome trim that goes to make the front. The headlight clusters are darkened and the front apron has also got that distinctive AMG style. The 17 inch alloy wheel on the Edition C has 5 spokes and this too has been buffed black. And of course, there is the badge on either wings of the car which proclaims it to be Edition C. Overall, the car does look masculine and sportier.

The sport treatment continues to the interiors, which has also been touched up in black and brushed aluminium trim. The seats are of mixed Artico synthetic leather and Dinamica microfibre with blue contrast stitching. The steering wheel is also leather trimmed with grey contrast stitches and brushed-aluminium touch. The gear lever and gaiter get the same effect of black leather stitched up with brushed aluminium and grey contrast. The doors also get the same treatment.

Edition C is powered by the same 2143cc 4 cylinder diesel engine that produces 170PS at 3000-4200 rpm and maximum torque of 400Nm which comes between 1400 to 2800 rpm. It is mated to a 7G-TRONIC PLUS Automatic Transmission also gets Eco Start Stop System.

The quality and craftsmanshipship undoubtedly appears to be exquisite and it does make this celebratory edition stand out in a refined and unobtrusive way. Is it worth dishing out a premium for the Edition C? If you love exclusivity, then you bet it is.
