Tata has gone all out to ensure Nano becomes a more acceptable car in India than what it currently is. Before its launch, analysts predicted that Nano would be a traffic crumpling seller, however, what happened was absolute opposite of it.
Tata is not even able to sell 25% of the total capacity of Nanos it can produce. The Pune based manufacturer is working on a number of different variants of Nano which include facelifts, different engine options in various fuels, refreshes etc. Tata has very recently launched the 2013 version of Nano which carried year specific modifications and changes.
They also launched the Nano CNG emax this month at Rs 2.4 Lakhs ex-showroom Delhi. Apart from the upcoming Nano diesel, we have an interesting but mysterious mule of Tata Nano that has been caught by Team-BHP.com.
The mule is camouflaged from the rear and front bumper. It is claimed that this is the new Nano petrol facelift that will adorn Nano diesel’s looks when it gets launched in the market. This means it will adorn the following changes:
- Refreshed front and rear bumper
- Openable hatch lid
- New exhaust
People have been yearning for an openable hatch lid for a long time and it appears that Tata might just incorporate the enhancements in the new Nano. Another possibility of introducing a power steering on the Nano is also ripe and the Nano diesel is expected to be launched with one…
Frankly speaking, we are clueless about this mule as well as its possible launch (if this indeed is the regular Nano petrol facelift) since the 2013 edition has just made it to the markets. But the camouflage certainly makes this an interesting catch.
Why we feel that this might not be Nano diesel is because of the position of the exhaust. The Nano diesel we have spied (pic above) carries a left-side aligned exhaust however, this mule carries a centrally aligned (slightly redesigned) centrally aligned exhaust similar to the current Nano petrol.
