Nagesh Basavanhalli Quits Fiat; Pablo Rosso May be the New MD

So, just when we thought Fiat India is making a comeback in India, we hear a shocker! According to Autocar, its current Managing Director Nagesh Basavanhalli has quit the company in what seems to be an end moment move!

The reasons of his exit from the company are not known at this point but we understand that it was not planned at all. Nagesh was made the head of Fiat India back in April 01 2013 and he served the company for about 20 months, wherein he steered the comeback of Fiat with new products like Linea, Punto Evo and Avventura.

The company was also scheduled to launch the Jeep brand in India, which stands postponed at this point, due to reasons which do not make a lot of sense for us!

This vacuum at the top is expected to be filled by Pablo Rosso, who currently heads Fiat Chrysler in South Korea. Pablo, who will take over as the interim head of the company soon, has already worked with Fiat’s Indian operations before Nagesh’s appointment.

We are not sure how will this affect the company’s plans and growth but they just can not afford to miss the bus now. We await an official confirmation about this update from the company.
