Hyundai-Like 2015 Chevrolet Sail Facelift Spotted in China

Chevrolet India has not really been at its best. More so after the recent revelation by new Indian Chief Arvind Saxena that the company has no plans of launching all-new products till 2017 (which also infers that Adra is not coming soon!).

Till then all it has for support are the mid-life updates, facelifts and special editions of its existing models, and this sadly doesn’t look like a very promising prospect.

The practical yet uninspiring Chevrolet Sail is getting ready for a fairly detailed makeover and the same has been spied in China all uncamouflaged. The present generation Sail looks to be inspired from the Cruze, with a fairly aggressive front grille and engine hood. It prides itself of its masculine lines and sharp features. The facelift though, spotted by autoifeng.com, is totally opposite. The car seems to have borrowed design cues from Hyundai’s fluidic design philosophy. Why Chevy, why?

The head lamp cluster has a softer feel, which continues to the front grille. The fog lamp unit, embedded in the front bumper is also going to sport a completely new look, bidding adieu to the circular, bland ones. Even the rear end gets a good job better than the current car, coming out smarter than the present version. The outside rear view mirror looks sportier than before. Interestingly, this car is spotted with a sunroof.

If Chevrolet plans to launch this new facelifted Sail in India, it would be sometime next year. The engine options here will most probably remain the same, with the 1.2L petrol producing 86PS of maximum power and 113Nm of torque, with a fuel efficiency of 18.2kmpl and the 1.3L Multijet diesel churning out 78PS and 205Nm of peak torque with a fuel efficiency of 22.1kmpl.
