You Start-Stop Your Car 18000 Times a Year; Castrol Launches New Magnatec Start-Stop Engine Oil to Reduce Wear-Tear

Typical city driving often involves starting and stopping continuously thanks to congested traffic conditions. This sudden stop-start style of driving takes a toll over the engine, increasing wear and tear and reducing engine life. Castrol has developed an all-new special engine oil for this problem.

Castrol Magnatec Stop-Start, a new series of engine oil, developed in an active collaboration with Tom Tom, a navigation system provider. They collected data for the Castrol Magnatec Stop-Start Index, which gave them an idea about the average number of times Indians stop during city driving conditions.

The Castrol Magnatec Stop-Start Index examined traffic conditions in 50 key cities around the world, including North America (New York), Australia (Sydney), Asia (Shanghai, Hong Kong, Bangkok, Jakarta) and Europe (London, Istanbul). The study helped in highlighting the key factors contributing to increases in stop-start driving, including traffic, urbanisation, and the short journeys experienced in these markets. As per the survey, an average driver stops and starts his car 18,000 times a year.

The Castrol Magnatec Stop-Start adheres to the engine parts and develops a protective and healing layer to protect the engine. Even if the molecules are removed because of excessive wear, new molecules rush in to take its place and protect the engine. Castrol tells us that this new oil has been developed after thousands of hours of research in partnership with one of the world’s greatest universities at Castrol’s many technological centres around the globe. Critical engine components are protected at each stage of stop-start driving, from the very first start, to the very last stop, and every stop-start in between.

According to the pic Castrol has shared, this is a 5W 30 semi-synthetic engine oil. We have not used the oil. Try it up and if it helps do share your reviews with our readers.
