New Dual Tone Pajero Sport Limited Edition Launched at Rs 23.99 Lakhs

Long before Mitsubishi officially came into India, its Pajero was a vehicle that one would always find in the garages of the well-heeled in India. And when the company started its operations here and launched the SUV officially in our car market, it did sell well.

However, ever since Toyota launched its Fortuner, the sales of the Pajero started to get hit and to gain some traction Mitsubishi launched the Pajero Sport in India, discontinued the original Pajero later. According to Mitsubishi’s standards, Pajero Sport has been doing rather well in the premium SUV segment in India so far.

In an effort to boost sales further around the festive season Mitsubishi has launched a limited edition of the Pajero Sport at INR 23.99 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) according to Autocar. Simply called the Mitsubishi Pajero Sport Limited Edition the SUV sees some cosmetic changes on the outside and additions in equipment on the inside.

You can differentiate the limited edition Pajero Sport from its dual-tone paint scheme that it borrows from the Pajero. It can be specified in red and white or yellow and white paint combos. Limited edition badging and outside rear view mirrors with integrated turn indicators round off the changes on the exterior.

Get inside the cabin and you’ll see that Mitsubishi has given a DVD system with two screens for rear-passengers and there’s also a chiller in the boot (we ain’t giving you any ideas!). Of course, there are no changes beneath the skin and the vehicle continues to derive motive power from the same 2.5-litre, four-cylinder turbodiesel that powers the regular Pajero Sport (which is priced at 23.5 Lakhs ex-showroom Delhi). The engine is good for 175bhp and power is sent to the rear wheels through a five-speed manual gearbox.

Selectable four-wheel drive is standard equipment on the SUV and it not only comes with a low-ratio (4-Low), you can also lock the centre differential – that is something that the Fortuner does not get…
