On July 14th Ford opened pre-sales of Ford’s latest compact SUV, the new EcoSport in Brazil, the first country to get the car in the world.
Out of the 2500 units planned to be sold through internet, EcoSport has already received 1300 confirmed bookings and the remaining units are also reserved and would be confirmed as soon as the booking amount of R$ 5000 (~1.35 Lakhs INR) is paid to the respective customers.
Ford has also registered 1,15,000 enthusiasts on its dedicated site since it began with the promotion very recently. New EcoSport is scheduled to get officially launched in Brazil during early August.
Ford EcoSport is expected to get launched in India around early 2013 but there are chances that Ford might sneak it in a couple of months earlier. There are all expectations that the compact SUV which would directly rival Duster here would be priced competitively in India.
