Next-Gen Ford Figo (Ka) Production Version Revealed Officially

With the FIFA World Cup just round the corner, the American car maker is all set to launch the next-gen Ford Figo in Brazil (as Ford Ka).

And slowly but surely newer details have started pouring in. It will come sporting the 1.0L EcoBoost petrol engine is the first and the most interesting of the lot.

And now, the company has officially unveiled the production version of the car on their special microsite they have put up for the Ka. The car seems to have gone through a few subtle changes, as expected, but it largely remains almost similar to what was showcased.

The biggest change is the front grille – Gone are the old straight lines and in comes the aesthetically beautiful honeycomb grille, adding more to its already sophisticated looks. The headlamp unit also goes under the knife but comes out as a new boring unit. The lines and curves though are thankfully retained, as it adds the much needed grace to the car.

Ford has also shared pics of the alloys, rear and the displayed car also runs with variant names hinting at the closeness of the launch.

Our regular readers would remember that we have very recently talked about the interiors of the new Figo with an alleged image of its dashboard. The mid-size hatch back segment will see a lot of action this year with almost every player updating its existing line up, and the Figo will be a very important product for Ford as they are really hoping to increase their market share here in India.

The new Figo does look promising and with that 1.0L EcoBoost motor, competition will be at tenterhooks! But, we believe, Ford should have gone with the original headlamps of the concept. Ford is expected to launch the new Ka in Brazil within a few weeks.
