122 PS and 200 Nm producing Volkswagen Jetta will see the light this month with a 1.4 litre TSI engine! Going away from the expectation of a 1.8 litre TSI, which also powers the Skoda Laura petrol and Skoda Laura RS, Volkswagen has decided to come up with the all new 1.4 litre TSI engine.
Volkswagen wish to nail the dropping sales of petrol cars and thus 1.8 TSi would have been an overkill kind of attempt, so it seems that the 1.4 litre TSI mill makes more sense with such high petrol prices in the country.
This single 1.4 litre TSI mill has two power and torque delivery option; a 122 PS and 200 Nm and the other with 160 PS and 240 Nm. We think that the lower powered version will make it to the Jetta 1.4 TSI petrol.
Expect the price list to hover somewhere between 12.50 lacs to 16.00 lacs to make it a more compelling buy.
