The Everest concept upon which the next generation Ford Endeavour is going to be based on has been displayed at the 2014 Bangkok Motor Show. The 7-seat SUV has been designed for ASEAN and global markets and look a lot modern than the current old-gen truck like appearance.

The 2015 Ford Endeavour sheds its shoebox design and goes acceptably soft edged. The new front end sports the new-design Ford signature hexagonal grille steeped in chrome. If you like your chrome, the new Endeavour shall endeavor to give satisfaction by way of more chrome on the side-view mirrors, door handles, and air intakes above the front wheel arches. Exterior also features the scuff plates fore and aft, the burly wheel arches, large all-terrain footwear wrapped around the new-design alloys, well, it looks.

India will also get this as next-gen Endeavour, possibly as a CKD. And hence a possibility of assembly at either the Chennai plant or the upcoming Sanand Gujarat facility. The kits are expected to be sourced from Ford Thailand and the vehicle is expected to be launched sometime in 2015. We also expect a marked improvement in terms of the underpowered engines which are offered currently.

This next-gen 2015 version might ask for a premium with its better features, drivablility and as a result of the the ever increasing prices by the competition in this segment. Nonetheless, we will definitely miss the crude truck-like feel of the Ford Endeavour which made it famous when it was launched here.
