Ford India’s upcoming small cars for our market include the next-generation Figo hatchback and the Figo Aspire compact sedan. Both the cars are already on sale in Brazil under the brand name Ka and Ka+ respectively. The company has earlier announced that the Figo Aspire will be launched before the Figo hatchback and they have already started promoting the sub 4 meter sedan on their website and social channels.
In an update, both the cars were caught testing by the folks at Carwale near Pune in minimally camouflaged state. The Figo hatchback spotted here sports a bright yello paint scheme which is not present in any of the new Ford cars in India.
Interestingly, even the EcoSport was spied in yellow in India before it was launched but the company has not introduced it here yet, even after two years. Not only this, they also tested a yellow Figo facelift on the roads but we are yet to see it making an official appearance! And so, we are a little skeptical if this new Figo will get this palette!
How about a big surprise Ford – The new Figos with the 1.0 liter EcoBoost in this yellow color, possibly as some sporty variant!
Both the cars will be getting a 1.2 litre petrol and a 1.5 litre diesel engine according to what Ford has confirmed. Transmission duties will be overseen by a 5 speed manual and there will be a dual clutch automatic transmission, at least on the Figo Aspire. Which engine will sport it is a question mark at this point!
Expect heavy part sharing between these two siblings and we also believe both of them will be offered with a host of features to lure the buyer!

Ford is also expected to launch these cars at attractive price points, a lesson they have learnt from EcoSport! The company has started dealer training of the Figo Aspire and its launch is a matter of a few weeks!
