Revealed: Next-Gen i20 to be unveiled in October; Spied again in India

Barely a few days back, we shared with you a couple of exclusive spyshots of the Next-Gen Hyundai i20 which was caught by one of our readers around Chennai who also shared with us its interior details.

In a latest, the new Hyundai’s proficient hatchback i20 has again been seen and photographed in India. This time its a reader of autocarindia.com and the thoroughly covered up test mule was sighted near the company’s plant in Chennai. As has been reported earlier, the next gen i20 has also been spotted in Europe where it is being assessed for its winter worthiness.

The newest revelation of this story is the time frame when we will be able to see the car in total. The anticipated unveiling of this new generation i20 is during du Mondial de l’Automobile 2014 (the Paris Motor Show 2014) later this year in October. Paris Motor Show starts from 4th October and goes on till 19th of the month.

The i20 in its current state wouldn’t strike one as a car needing a redo. It has earned the maximum 5 Stars from Euro NCAP, the Kappa petrol and the CRDI diesel motors have been well accepted for their performance and the car looks gorgeous in total. The stylish i20 also comes with a pretty lengthy feature list making it one of the best selling cars from the Hyundai’s stable.

Incidentally, Paris Motor Show is the same stage where i20 made its world debut in 2008. Before the new i20 breaks cover, Hyundai would like its current i20 to make the most of the momentum it has already generated.

Hyundai has been producing the i20s for India, Asia and Oceania at its plant in Sriperumbudur (near Chennai). The European markets get their i20s from the Hyundai Izimit production plant in Turkey. So, today we know the debut date of i20, but we are still clueless about its Indian venture, a 2015 launch is it, then?
