The entry level ‘Notchback’ from GM – Sail has been an important product for the company. This ‘CRUZE’ inspired, Mid –Sized Sedan was expected to bring in hoards of sales for the not-so-settled company.

The competent Sail with its staid stance, proportionate body, fairly good comfort, boot space, competent engines tuned for city driving at a competitive price tag was largely let down by mediocre interior quality, poor steering, recall issues and lack of outright performance.

For the Eastern region customers, the cash discount is Rs 2000 lesser at Rs 8000 in turn making the total benefits upto Rs 38,000.

The discount does open up new interesting options and more reasons to consider SAIL over the segment leader Maruti Swift Dzire and Amaze. Dzire, for sure is a more fun to drive car with a peppier engine but longer waiting periods, disproportionate body and commonality deteriorate the case for Dzire.
