Honda Motor today announced exhibition outline for the 12th Auto Expo 2014 – the much awaited India motor show to be held at the India Expo Mart in Greater Noida, Delhi – NCR. The exhibition will be open to public from February 7 to 11, 2014, and the scribes/media will have February 5 and 6, 2014 exclusively booked for them.
In a press release mailed to us, Honda Motor informed that they will be out in force showcasing the latest and the very best they have on offer. Elaborating their plans for the Expo, Honda said that they will world premier a new creative model called the Honda Vision XS-1. The Vision XS-1 is a concept crossover featuring sporty styling and providing outstanding utility space. Does this crossover has any resemblance with the Brio based compact SUV/crossover Honda plans to launch in India? Auto Expo will tell!
National Premier of Mobilio and New Jazz
Honda will also unveil the Brio-based MPV – Mobilio. The fourth generation hatchback ‘Jazz’ was recently unveiled and is already on sale in Japan. The American specification car unveiled there is known as Honda ‘Fit’. The Jazz, in its right-hand drive spec, will be launched at the Auto Expo. Indian Jazz is expected to be powered by the 1.2L petrol engine from Brio and more importantly it will get the 1.5L diesel engine from Amaze.
Honda will also exhibit cutting edge technologies and products such as the NSX Concept and the Accord Hybrid. The NSX Concept is a profusely hi-tech, two-seater, four-wheel-drive hybrid supercar utilizing a petrol engine as well an electric motor to propel itself. The production version of NSX has recently gone on sale in the UK, ahead of a planned 2015 launch. It is stipulated that the production NSX will come with a price tag of around INR 1.0 crore.
Similarly, the Accord Hybrid four-door sedan comes with Honda’s new petrol-electric powertrain called the Intelligent Multi-Mode Drive, or i-MMD. Honda confirms that the Accord Hybrid will be present in its stall. Honda will also showcase the 4th generation all-new City, the popular Amaze with i-DTEC diesel engine, hatchback Brio and the Honda crossover CR-V.
