In an official invite, Mercedes has confirmed that they will be launching the gorgeous SLK 55 AMG roadster on December 02 in India. The invite mailer features the interiors of the car which look typical Mercedes sporty!
SLK55 AMG is powered by a massive 5.5L V8 motor which churns out a shattering 415hp of horsepower and earth gobbling 540Nm of torque. Acceleration, hence is blistering fast at 4.5 seconds taken from naught to 60mph (~97 kmph). It gets a Paddle-shifted 7-Speed AMG SPEEDSHIFT automatic transmission.
There have been various improvements carried out in the new 2014 variant which includes better fuel efficiency, carbon emissions and the AMG kitted car comes with the following features:
- AMG Body Styling
- AMG Sport Suspension
- Ventilated discs
- 18 inch AMG 5-spoke alloy wheels
- AMG Nappa leather upholstery with contrasting stitching and a host of other features
The 2014 SLK55 AMG costs $68,925 which, in today’s conversion rates, equates something close to 43.5 Lakh INR. However, this will be a CBU (Completely Built Unit) attracting maximum taxes. How would Mercedes price it in India remains to be seen.
