Official: Next-Gen i10 Revealed; Unveiling at Frankfurt Motor Show

We have received a Hyundai i10 Grand here in India, and many other nations are set to receive the next-Generation of the Hyundai i10. It will be unwrapped at the Frankfurt Motor Show next month.

You might mistake it for the Hyundai Grand i10, after all the attention that the saffron-colored car has been receiving since its official unveiling. But let us tell you that it is a bit different from the Grand i10 that we will receive here in India.

The new Generation i10 is 85mm longer, 65 mm wider and 50 mm lower than the older i10. These changes are claimed to lend better driving characteristics. With these dimensions, it also looks beefier than the current i10 we have in India. It also has more roominess inside, with a larger boot space of 252 litres. To spruce up appearances at the front, LED daytime running lamps have been added. However, they might be reserved for higher-end variants only to lower prices.

We aren’t sure about the engine options but it might receive a three-cylinder 1.0-litre engine and another four-cylinder 1.2-litre. Hyundai is yet to detail the prices, but it should not end up breaking one’s bank.

Allan Rushforth, Senior Vice President and COO of Hyundai Motor Europe is upbeat about the next-Gen i10. He mentioned that the car has been developed keeping European sensibilities in mind and is a step ahead for Hyundai Motors. This new Generation i10 will be developed in Europe and will be produced at Hyundai’s Ízmit plant in Turkey.
