Old vs New: Ford EcoSport Price Comparo

Ford India has recently updated one of their best selling products in their Indian line-up, the EcoSport. The compact SUV has been doing wonders for them and has not just revived the Ford brand in India but has also made it a household name.

The company launched a very interesting updated version yesterday with few mechanical updates to the diesel engine as well as the addition of new features. They also introduced a new variant Trend+ and shared the prices of all of them. So, let us have a quick look at how much have the prices rises, if et all..

EcoSport-Price-Comparo-new-vs-old

For the 1.5 Liter petrol, there has been a price increase ranging from Rs 4000 to Rs 21,000. Getting an EcoBoost petrol is more affordable now as it has been introduced on the lesser Trend+ variant and the Titanium trim is no more on offer – a logical step this! The Titanium+ trim gets a price increment of Rs 19,000.

Let us talk about the highest selling – 1.5L TDCI diesel variants, which have, apart from other additions, gotten in the more powerful 100PS tune from the same motor. The entry variants get costlier by Rs 9000 whereas the top of the line Titanium trims cost upto Rs 26,000 more. Again, the Trend+ variant in between forms a very logical placement and doesn’t cannibalize into either of its neighbours!

Overall, the price increment ranges from Rs 4000 to Rs 26,000 ex-showroom in Delhi. And when you compare this with the features that are now on offer, which include standard ABS with EBD from the Trend variant onwards and driver side airbag from the new Trend+ variant onwards apart from automatic headlamps, DRLs, rain sensing wipers etc (on the higher variants), you will tend to justify the hike. But, unlike Figo and Figo Aspire, which get standard airbags from the base variant onwards, Ford EcoSport customers of the starting two variants will have to live without even one! Why? We are not sure…
