We Spy Polo and Vento LHD in Pune Again!

If you remember, we brought to you the first ever spyshots and scoop of LHD Polo in March this year which busted Volkswagen’s plans to export Polo hatch to left hand drive markets from India.

Here we bring to you another set of images of the Polo as well as the Vento LHD models. There were 3-4 cars that were running in convoy. These test mules were spied exactly at the same location in Pune where we had earlier caught the CNG variants of both these twins.

Volkswagen produces the Left Hand Drive models of both the Polo as well as the Vento at its Chakan plant. These products are exported to the Arab Emirates, Malaysia, South Africa and possibly some other countries. Volkswagen does brisk business with these LHD models and has dispatched more than 2 Lakh units of the Vento LHD from its Chakan plant. However, it is not named as the Vento, rather it is called by the name of Polo Sedan.

The Vento LHD has nothing in visual difference from the regular Vento that we have in India. The Polo LHD is similar in that aspect, too.

In the latest spotting, both the Polo and Vento LHD models were caught. This raises the probability that Volkswagen is tweaking them, or testing them for some newer markets. There are some questions about the powerplants beneath the hoods of these LHD models. Could Volkswagen be testing some newer engine options on these models – the 1.5L that is coming to India in May next year?
