SPIED: Baby Porsche Macan Spied in Mumbai; Launch Very Soon

Porsche’s baby SUV Macan is a sweet little (!!!) car, though don’t be fooled by its size, being a Porsche, it will be blisteringly fast and exponentially expensive. Scheduled to be launched very soon, this will be Porsche’s most affordable car in India, under the premium SUV Cayenne.

And in a first, Carwale.com has shared the first ever spyshots of the Macan from somewhere in Mumbai. The report says that this is the diesel version on test and the petrol model is still awaited to land on our shores.

The Macan, which was earlier called as the Cajun (Cayenne Junior), will be fighting it out against the big-wigs like the Audi Q5 (the platform on which the Macan is based) and the BMW X3. Well the Jag’s CX 17 is still a good two years away, so yeah these two Germans are its main competitors, for now.

The car is available with the following engine options:

  • Macan S: powered by a 3.0L V6 petrol producing 340PS of power at 5,500 to 6,500rpm and 460 Nm at 1,450 to 5,000rpm, with a top speed of 254kph.
  • Macan S diesel: powered by a 3.0L V6 diesel producing 258PS of power at 4,000 to 4,250rpm and a peak torque 580Nm at 1,750 to 2,500rpm, with a top speed of 230kph.
  • Macan turbo: powered by a 3.6L V6 petrol producing 400PS of power at 6,000 and a torque of 550Nm at 1,350 to 4,500rpm, with a top speed of 266kph!
