If you wanted a new set of wheels and have been holding your horses because of steep prices; unleash them now. The reduction in excise duties on passenger vehicle announced by our government a couple of days ago are effective immediately.
Many car companies – Mahindra, Nissan, Hyundai, and Honda among others have decided to diligently pass on the benefits to the customers. They have dusted up their showrooms and are awaiting your arrival. Like I said earlier, run out with your credit cards and checkbooks.
The new range of prices for all makes and models are ex-showroom, Delhi. Here is the low down:
Mahindra:
Mahindra has slashed prices from Rs 13,000 to Rs 49,000 for its passenger vehicles with immediate effect. The price of their premium SUV Ssangyong Rexton has been reduced to almost a lakh rupee (INR 92,000, to be exact).
As we understand, the lowest Rs 13,000 is for the cheapest entry level variant of Quanto and the highest Rs 49,000 is for the top of the line XUV500 W8 AWD.
Nissan:
Nissan India, similarly, has extended the benefits to their buyers. The price reduction by Nissan is in the range of 4% – 6% and will apply to all cars in their portfolio – Micra Active, Micra, Sunny, Evalia, Terrano and Teana. The new prices are already in effect and you can buy your Nissan cars at reduced prices.
Hyundai:
If you are considering one from the Korean stables, Hyundai has also announced a price reduction ranging from Rs 10,000 to Rs 1,35,300 on their cars. The least Rs 10,000 must be applicable on the Eon entry level variant whereas the highest discount of Rs 1.35 Lakh applies to the newly launched Santa Fe.
Honda:
Honda has also reduced prices on its cars and the quantum of slash ranges from Rs 14,650 and goes all the way uptill Rs 44,741.
The lower reduction of Rs 14k comes on the Brio and the CR-V is dearer by Rs 44k. Honda has also taken pains to share the new ex-showroom Delhi prices with us and here is the list.
