Renault has launched its Dacia branded Duster in UK at a price of 8995 pounds which is equivalent to 8 Lakh in Indian Rupees. These prices are for a base petrol front wheel drive variant which doesn’t even come with an AirCon.
The base variant of Duster will be powered by a 104bhp 1.6L petrol engine and would be a front-wheel drive. Also, on offer is the same petrol engine as a 4-wheel drive.
In diesel, Duster gets a 1.5L diesel engine which produces 106bhp for the front-wheel drive whereas the there is the 108bhp form which is a 4-wheel drive machine. Also, on offer are 16 inch alloy wheels for the top variants.
Renault calls this as “shockingly affordable” and this does make a cut considering the UK markets. All Dusters in UK will come with a 3-year 60k miles warranty. Bookings open on 28 June however deliveries are expected to take a few months.
Renault was teasing UK crowd with this “shockingly affordable” tag from a long time, however, there is nothing of this sort for the Indian market as such. Second point here is that Dacia is generally a lower brand for Renault and the version that we would be getting in India would be Renault branded. Nonetheless, we would come to know about everything on 4th July when Renault launches the Duster in India.
Meanwhile, the company has started pre-launch hype building activities in India as well.
