Renault Launches Kwid 1.0 litre at Rs 3.82 lakhs

Renault India continues with its impeccable performance with pricing and has today launched the Kwid 1.0 litre at Rs 3.82 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi). It is limited only to the top end RXT and RXT (O) trims and costs just Rs 22,000 more than the 0.8 litre version. This is one of the first engines to be developed by the French automaker in India. Aiming to redefine the segment with its disruptive pricing the Kwid, the original 0.8 litre version has so far recorded almost 80,000 units.

The car is powered by a new 1.0 litre SCe three pot DOHC engine churning out 68 PS of maximum power at 5,500 rpm and 98 Nm of peak torque at 4,250 rpm. Mated to this a five-speed manual transmission.n yes they did showcase an AMT version as well, but that is for a later date. The engine claims a fuel efficiency of 23.01 kmpl and has a power to weight ratio of 97 PS/ton.

In terms of visual changes, the Kwid 1.0 litre gets decals on the doors and two-tone gloss grey ORVMs. Interiors remain the same. Since it is available only in the RXT and RXT (O) version, it gets the 7 inch touch screen infotainment system. Customers can also choose from a number of accessories to customise the car.

Thanks to the strong demand of the Kwid, Renault has now has a 4.43 percent market share. The number of outlets by the end of 2016 will be raised to 270 touchpoints. The Kwid 1.0 litre will also be offered with a 50,000 km/2 years warranty policy, extendable up to 80,000 km/4 years. Renault will also offer complimentary Road Side Assistance for 2 years.

The pricing for the KWid 1.0 litre is at Rs 3,82,776 and Rs 3,95,776 for the RXT and RXT (O) trims respectively (both ex-showroom, Delhi)
