The Lodgy for Renault has been nothing short of a headache in terms of sales volumes. While the initial demand was encouraging the drop in sales has been far from satisfactory. A stronger rival in the form of the Maruti Ertiga has been another bane. In the last fiscal their sales stood at just 9,752 units. Sales in the present fiscal stands at 1,121 (till May 2016).
To help in boosting volumes, the French car maker has reduced the prices of certain variants of the MPV. This cut however, is limited only to the 85 PS engine trim while the more powerful 110 PS trim remains unchanged. The standard variant sees a price cut of Rs 96,000 which brings the price down to Rs 7.59 lakhs.
The 1.5 litre diesel mill in this trim mode churns out 85 PS of maximum power and 200 Nm of peak torque. The RXZ 85 PS trim, which is the highest variant level of this engine tune, gets a reduction of Rs 34,000, bringing the price tag down to a tad below the Rs 11 lakh mark. Apart from the above mentioned reduction, Renault is also offering a gift cheque for all Lodgy customers as a part of their 5th Anniversary celebration in the country.

The car maker also has gift cheques of Rs 25,000 for Duster customers (expect the RXZ trim level in both 85 PS, 110 PS and AWD versions).
